Carbon Monoxide Detectors
According to the Journal of the American Medical
Association 2,100 people die from unintentional carbon
monoxide poisoning each year in the United States. It is
the number one cause of poisoning deaths in the United
States. It is colorless, tasteless, odorless and
absolutely preventable.
Signs of carbon monoxide poisoning:
Dizziness, headaches, nausea, sleepiness,
fatigue/weakness/vomiting, confusion, chest pains
How to prevent carbon monoxide
poising:

Have carbon monoxide detectors installed
in your home, one on every level of the home, within 10
feet of each sleeping area, habitable basements, and in
your attic.

Have you current carbon monoxide
batteries changed every six to twelve months

Have a fireplace, make sure the flue is
open before enjoying the fire

Do not run your car inside the garage
EVEN when the garage door is open

Have any gas appliances checked annually
